Genie Academy started as a hobby. My wife and I wanted to teach important skills to young kids so they reach their full potential. I was a poor student and didn't really care for school. As a result I got bad grades. I always took the easy way out. While my peers took Math & Science in High School. I took Commerce which was the easy way out. The first Private and prestigious college I attended kicked me out. I was able to transfer to a Government College and graduated with a Second Class B. Com degree. This severely limited my career prospects. I was unemployed after graduating so I started Day trading in stocks.My family got worried and got me a job with a Diamond company where I sold diamonds in Belgium, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and New York. I hated it. I dreamed of working in technology. I taught myself programming and found a job with Goldman Sachs. This was a life changing event as I realized that everything that was important in school was irrelevant in my new career. I discovered how to learn any skill quickly and effectively. I am a lifelong learner. I am a self taught Programmer. I am also a Pilot and a Business Coach. In my free time I like to fly all over New Jersey and surrounding skies. I have coached an old Math Genie student to solo fly an airplane. I am also on the board of New Jersey chapter of Entrepreneurs Organization(EO) a global, peer-to-peer network of more than 17,500+influential business owners with 198 chapters in 61 countries. I have coached various entrepreneurs as part of EO's Accelerator program.
